WOW — Women of the World — was founded to stand with women who have survived trafficking, exploitation, and gender-based violence, including survivors of the Epstein network. Our doors are open to anyone, woman or man, who has faced harm and is looking for a quieter, kinder place to begin again.

Our story

It began with a cup of coffee.

It started with the survivors. Women who had carried impossible things, in many cases for many years, and who were looking for a place to be heard before they were asked anything — including women who survived Jeffrey Epstein and his network.

WOW grew from those conversations. A circle for the everyday work of recovery, dignity, and welcome — the morning text that says I’m thinking of you, the seat saved at the meeting, the shoulder offered before it’s asked for. We believe in more cooperation, less competition; in justice that looks like patience; in fairness that looks like attention.

The work has grown beyond any one story. We stand with survivors of trafficking, exploitation, and gender-based violence. We welcome anyone — woman or man — who has faced harm. Men are not just allowed in the room: fathers, brothers, partners, sons, and the men who choose to be allies are counted on.

This is the work. Make it easy. Make it meaningful. Make it for everybody.

Survivor first

The person who lived it leads the conversation. Their pace, their language, their next step.

Justice

Patient, honest, and unafraid to name harm for what it is. Fair to the person in front of us, first.

Equality

Every voice in the circle weighs the same. Position, geography, and reputation get parked at the door.

Open door

Women, men, allies, anyone who has experienced harm. There is a chair, and it has your name on it.

Debra is the founder of WOW. She built this circle around a simple conviction: that survivors deserve rooms where they are listened to before they are evaluated, and where help is the easiest thing to ask for.

Her work began with survivors of trafficking and exploitation — including women from the Epstein network — and has grown to welcome anyone who has faced harm. She believes in meeting people where they are, and that the deepest movements often look, up close, like a friendship.

Outside WOW, Debra is a mother, a neighbour, a relentless host of long dinners, and a champion of asking the second question.

Brand & Web Designer

Md Ashfak Sayed designed the WOW identity and built this site. He believes a small organisation deserves the same craft and care anybody else gets — and that good design quietly tells the truth about what an organisation values.

He worked closely with Debra to find the symbol that would carry the work — four hands of different shades clasped around the earth, holding a quiet peace at the centre — and to choose the colours and the type that would feel like a warm room rather than a billboard.

When he is not making websites, he is reading too many things at once, drinking strong coffee, and arguing for fewer features and more whitespace.
